I'm trying to decide which new TV to buy. I'd narrowed it down to a Panasonic TH-46PZ81 or Sony KDL-46W4500 and had more or less decided on the Panasonic TH-46PZ81. However I've now been told that the Sony is noticeably better for PS3. I'm far from an expert but the reasons given don't ring true with me; Sony invented Blue-Ray and only a Sony can accurately display the 1080p output on PS3 games and Blue-Ray. Please can someone help me out and point me in the correct direction?
I want the TV for SD, Blue-Ray films and PS3 games with perhaps FreeSat HD if I can afford a FreeSat box after the TV!
    Many thanks in advance.:)

that only the sony can display the resolution is nonsense!

and the panasonic is a better choice for movies and tv to.

It is nonsense about the PS3 and the W4500.

I would go for the PZ81 for variuos reasons....

1)Black levels on the Panasonic are better than the Sony.
2)The PZ81 picture will look far more natural.
3)The W4500 series suffer from really bad backlight bleed (the worst that I have seen) and the PZ81 errr.....doesn't.
4)SD will look better on the plasma.
5)If you go for the PZ81 you will not need to get a Freesat box because the PZ81 series has a Freesat box built in.

    Thanks chaps:thumbsup:

That's just the reassurance I needed! I favoured the Panasonic as it's cheaper plus comes with FreeSat:D

Just need to find the cheapest place to buy it:rolleyes:

    Did I mention I'm moving up from a 28" CRT?
