Just ordered a PX70 from JL.

Don't need extra HDMI or SD slot or picture in picture.

Any other compelling reason to cancel and buy a PX700 instead?

And how much would the difference be?

Any guidance?

I prefer the silver 700 series CAB stand, its less dominating than the 70's black.

Though probably more of an issue on the 50"er.

But most of all, the 600/700 series have better speakers including a small sub-woofer. Not sure all that is worth so much extra though!

Stand colour / design is very subjective of course - I prefer the all black of the 70 :)

Better sound is interesting, although I was planning to invest in a decent sound system separately (Yamaha single unit perhaps)as my next toy.

Any idea what the price difference is for the 700 (42 inch) vs 42PX70?

Cheers.

Yeah, whilst the black is great, i think the silver (at least in my flat) would blend in better. If i bought the 50"er it would have to try VERY hard to blend in, its MASSIVE.

For me the choice of colour is more down to how it would look when I'm not watching it and dont want to be reminded of it ALL the time ...

Thanks all. I reckon that for a £250 difference I'm as well sticking with my PX70 - I can improve the sound (if required) via a separate audio system.

My main concern was that the picture quality on the 700 would be superior, which would hjave made me think again. Panel specs abnd PQ look exactly the same though, so I'll stick to the PX70 and save the cash for something else.

Would love the PZ full HD version but my budget won't stretch to that, I gather it's likely to be in the £2k region, not sure tho.

i think if you plan to add your own speaker system to the set then the px70 is the one to go, but if not and plan to leave as as ( like most do ) then for 250 for a lot better speaker system anti reflection coating i also believe and extra hdmi / sd sockets etc etc then its a steal , the px70 sound i thought was crap , and very flat. it would cost you more than 250 to add your own speaker system .
