    Hi,

I came across the plasma model mentioned in the title of my thread when i was browsing the panasonic u.s website. It has the same appearance as our (uk) th-42pe30 viera but has a pixel count of 1024X768 and a contrast of 3000:1 and is compatible with 720p/1080i HDTV. They also have a 42" screen which is identical technically to our viera but looks different.
Does anyone know if the TH-42PX25U is likely to replace the current 42" panel that panasonic offers to the uk or if it will even become available?!

    Thanks.

I think it's a 6 series US screen tbh as it includes an ATSC Tuner. If the company didn't look so dodgy as far as payment methods go I'd be tempted a £2020 delivered!

these prices can't be right. It lists the 50phd6 at a price of 3295 Euros. Even if this does not include some sort of VAT, this seems far to good to be true. If not, I will travel over there myself.

    Cheers

The prices are extremely low. There may be some sort of customs tax to pay because those prices wont include uk vat. Im unsure as to how this would work out though, but im not willing to take a risk with the site anyway!

The US have had an XGA plasma TV available for the last year or two (lucky buggers). Panasonic UK in their infinite wisdom reckon XGA is no good for a consumer product until we get HDTV which is why you can only get the XGA 42" monitors in charcoal (through Panasonic Business Systems).

That Spanish site has got be a con...

For what it's worth, I have emailed tvplasmas.com requesting the usual information plus a pick up in person, as yet no reply.
