    Hi,

i am about to buy a plasma tv.

But i do have some questions before:

    1. Do i need a tv-tuner? What is it good for?

    2. Can someobody give a statement to the Panasonic TH-42PHW5EX please?

    3. Is the difference in the resolution 1024*768 versus 852x480 worth spending 500 euro more?

    Cheers
    Vin

    Hi,

    1. It depends what you intend to watch - for analogue you can use your VCR's tuner.
    2. The 5 series has a few issues - go for the 6 series.
    3. If you don't want to lose 96 PAL scan lines, I'd go for a 768 line one. ;)

The 5 series is prone to flicker with PAL sources and can also have PSU buzz.

I've had mine for almost a month now and haven't seen a flicker! I think it's one of those things you either see it or you don't!. Very happy with its performance.
