Panasonic TH-37PX80B Picture Aspect Ratio

Standard Member
Hi guys I need some help please, I own a Panasonic TH-37PX80B which I bought from Richer Sounds just under a month ago (£550 inc 5 years warranty). This is the first widescreen TV I've owned. When I watch a show (on the Panny) that was originally filmed in fullscreen (4:3) the picture looks stretched out unless I change the aspect ratio to 4:3, by doing this I get two grey borders on either side of the I wanted to know if it is possible to change the colour to black as the grey borders are an eyesore. Please help. Thanks

Go to the setup menu and set side panel to "off"

Though it's worth noting that the bars being grey is designed to prevent burn-in by giving the blank part of the panel something to do. I agree that they look ugly, but I'd rather put up with them than end up with a 4:3 frame burnt into my screen.
