    Hello everybody,

Does anybody know if you kan switch the MPEG camcorder of Panasonic, the SV-AV100 between PAL and NTSC. Are there two different camcorders with there own television system.

PAL & NTSC are 2 completely different colour systems used for video. They are not just small differences that can be changed with a software tweek, so AFAIK no consumer camcorders can switch from one to the other. A camcorder is made as either PAL or NTSC whilst being built.
If you need to be able to create video in both formats then you will need to change it in software once the footage has been edited on a PC or with hardware during capture etc but this will reduce the quality of the footage.

That has always been my advise.

When in Rome do as the Romans do!
When in PAL land then buy a :censored: PAL camcorder and be happy that rip off Britain has parted you with more money than most of the rest of the world

Ho Hum! Well I stand by the 'get a PAL cam' anyway

Last week I ordered a PAL Panasonic GS400 so I have no complaints .................. :D
It seemed to be nice to have a Pana AV100 in my pocket for instant video's.
I don't know if we here in the Netherlands have been parted with more money then in Britain?

I ordered an AV-100 from the USA last year.
Local price in Amsterdam was 1200 euros ( 800 quid )
US price inc shipping (no taxes, valued as a gift :D ) was 500 euros(!)
    which is 320 quid.

Perfect handy camera, which TV does not support NTSC nowadays ?
