Now that the Panasonic has dropped to more or less the same price as the Samungs (745 and 945), is it clearly the better option? Is the Panasonic generally a better machine (given its original £300 selling point) - if so in what way?

Looking to connect to a Sharp LCD TV 26GA3 via DVI-I input.

Any thoughts on the relative merits gratefully received.

The Panasonic has a HDMI output on it so you will need a converter.. The Samsung equivilent is the 945 (the 745 is the DVI)

I cant say anything about the S97 but I have the 745 and its excellent.

You can also upscale in component on the HD745, and it supports 768p (PC mode)which is closer to native for the Sharp.

No Macroblocking, but blacks are weaker in DVI

    Oh and its £50 cheaper.........................

    Decisions decisions.

    Very happy with my Samsung.
