Hello all. Finally got my AE700 all set up, and it's pretty amazing. But as a first time projector owner, and looking in the menus i'm very confused as to what they should be on, and if there's anything i should have turned on / off or not. Now I know it varies because of other equipment and what not, but could anybody possiblly help me with the settings? Even contrast, brightness etc, what's ideal? As at the moment i'm just running it on normal, with everything on 0. Should I also change a few of the colour levels? I'm a complete noob to this, so would appreciate any advice, and if people could possibly post there settings, and make sure i've got everything turned on that I should have?
Scotty Boy Try this thread, it has loads of tweaking info on the AE700: Panny 700 tweaks I am seriously considering getting one of these myself but I'm a bit worried that it wont be bright enough. Have you experimented with different lighting conditions yet to see how the picture holds up. How visible is the picture in say a mildly lit room? Oh, forgot to mention - Do you know what firmware version your AE700 has? Cheers!
This should put your mind at rest... http://www.avforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1379967&postcount=11 That's what you get with 1000 lumens, if you want more the similarly spec'd Hitach PJTX100 is rated at 1200 lumens...PJ
Thanks PJTX100! Doesn't look as bad as I thought it would actually. Good stuff... So would you say your Hitach PJTX100 is brighter than that? Be honest
If I had mine set brighter than that I'd need sun tan lotion. I run mine with the IRIS set at 4 (max open is 10) which gives, for me, good contrast and brightness. The 1000 vs 1200 lumens specs are pretty academic...PJ PS also note he says he's running the 700 in low lamp mode
