As far as I know there is only the PT-AE700E. I'd suggest buying it from Discount Electrical (forum sponsors) for £999 inc. vat and delivery.

I believe there is two variations - one that has a Scart socket, and one that doesn't, as per the US version. Though their's may not have the 'E' on the end, which I believe stands for 'Europe'.

    Regards

Here in Australia, the model is PT-AE700E
In the US the model is PT-AE700U.
Apart from what voltage they run on, I don't believe there are other differences.

    Hi soundfreak,

Do you have a Scart socket on the back of your unit?

I was more worried though if the letter at the end was for different versions that have been tweaked in some way but am of the opinion that it is to do with voltage and video connections.

    Regards,
    Pete

The European ones have an E Suffix and include a SCART socket. Now the difficulty comes in which division of Panasonic in Europe bought the PJ (for warranty issues) which can only be ascertained by asking the retailer. Firmware is another issue, all ours are 1.07 but this can only be determined by serial no or actually a trip to the service menu which we invariably make when pixel checking the projectors.

    Hi benji_m,

Further searching the net has proved what you say is correct.

Just purchased one which was a PT-AE700E which has a scart socket on the back aswell has HDMI in, S-Video in, Composite in, and Component in.

    Regards all, :smashin:
