Sorry if this as been asked be for.
Which of these pj is the best?
I want it for playing xbox & watching dvd.
I'll be sitting about 12ft away from the 6ft screen i want so which would be the best for me?

Plus please tell me if you have had any probs with either pj.
    Cheers

I got a Z1 from nexnix.co.uk who (for an extra £20) checked my unit for dead pixels. For XBox and DVD and it's great - I use a 7 foot screen, sitting 10-12 feet away. I need to de-focus a tiny bit to remove the screend-door, but other than that it's great.

I think both those projectors will work really well. I got the Z1 cos it was cheap (£1269 all in), available for next day delivery, no dead-pixels, good reputation, and decent warrantee. The problems that AE100 owners were having kinda put me off Panny projectors.

The AE300 will be a little better, but I've never seen one so I can't comment on exactly how much better

Plus i've heard good things about the z1 i'm off to demo one on sunday.
But would just like to know what people think of their pj & what if any probs they have had.

    (EDIT)
Also i have heard talk of vertical bars on the z1, has anyone see these & can they be got rid of as i know i could not live with that kind of problem :nono:

I mean i play on a 21" tv at the mo so 6ft is well big enough for me.

    Good, good.
sorry, was away on business for a week (Tenerife :smoke:  ), and been busy last week,

Made it on last weekend, but noone was around :( .

Anyway, worth searching the console thread about how to use region decoders to see if they allow you to play NTSC discs in Prog scan, cos the picture does improve.

My panny ae100 is still working great after 14 months, and picture is not bad quality.

Consider how you'll connect Xbox to projector.

I use 10m component cables, to carry the best signal. But that is not too cheap (approx £50), and you'd need a hidef connection box for the xbox. Microsoft is the best brand for this.

bear in mind, with a bigger, projected image, it helps to try and get the best signal to the projector in order to get the best results.
