I am close to purchasing a new plasma. Either pioneer 436xde or panasonic phd8.

How obvious is colour banding on panasonic screens, in dark to light transitions and dark scenes. I have briefly seen 436 pio and did not notice any banding or green dottiness in dark areas but noticed it on the panasonic displays. I find this a bit strange as panasonic has greater level of gradations of grey compared to the pioneer.

please give me some advice and let me know your experiences.

False contouring is not a problem on the high def Panasonics. Green dottiness can be cured by careful calibration.
