    Found this on Gizmodo...

Panasonic is getting progressive, and will announce its first 1080p plasma display today. The second largest plasma seller in the world is also set to cut the Japanese price of its 65-inch Viera display by half, according to the Daily Yomiuri. We hear that the U.S. price will drop too, but it’s not clear by how much. Lower priced versions of the 30- and 40-inch TVs should follow as well.

At this rate we'll need more bedrooms to put the "old" telly's in.

A shame that Panasonic's Onyx range isn't available in the UK or Europe for that matter.

According to the article, the price of the new 65" is half of the old 65", which puts the new one much more in affordable areas than the old one was.

    xbox 360 ? = vga
    Sky Hi-def = component
    PC DIVx WMHD = DVI
    Blue Ray = HDMI firewire

    is this correct ?

also saw a 42" SD panasonic the other day running monsters in via scart from a budget all in one dvd HT system was the best picture i have ever seen cant imagine how good a new range of HD screen will look running native 1080P footage !?

I thought the PS3 was touted as being up to 1080p output.

Is there gonna be a 42" version with 1080P ??

Because that means a Plasma Display with 1080 lines squeezed
    in a 42" display......

    Very interesting folks

    Cheers

I doubt we will see 42" 1080p plasmas any time soon, but we may eventually see 50 or 55" models.

I just spoke to a chief technician from a Danish Plasma Company called Alphaview, and he said that they would be out with a 46" Plasma with 1920x1080 native resolution in a month?! Could that be true? I said that I didn't believe him...

It is very unlikely to physicaly fit 1920 plasma pixels horizontally on a 46" screen!!

As NicolasB said it must be an LCD!!

    Cheers :D

He said plasma... but I argued with him for quite a while, and at last, he stopped writing, even though he was still online... So I think he may have said something wrong - he was just too proud to say it - real skillfull chief technician, I must say! :D
