I have a Panasonic 42 PA 20 and a Grundig Sky Box. Sound has been perfect until recently when there has been a lot of interference with the sound, a kind of hissing sound

This only happens with Sky, with DVD there is no interference, i have checked different Scart Leads including High quality ones and the sound is no better

Any ideas on what the problem could potentially be?

    All help very gratefully received

Have you tried feeding the signal in through a different scart/AV socket on the back of the screen?

Can you attach your grundig to another TV in the house and see if the problem persists?

ok hooked the sat box up to another TV and there was the same interference sound, the picture is perfect just not the sound

( very relieved the plasma is not at fault)

is it more lilely to be the sat box that is broken or the F Type connection wire?

Hard to say what the fault might be. If it's under guarantee get it back to the shop you bought it from for repair/replacement. If not you can either tinker with it yourself or resign yourself to the fact that you need a new Sky Box. Maybe now's the time for sky+? :)
