is it worth upgrading the power lead of the panasonic phd8, to reduce RFI and EMI and improve picture performance, black level, noise etc.

Anyone had any experience with this?

I've got a home-made mains cable, mostly because the standard one wasn't long enough.

I can't honestly say I've noticed much improvement in PQ. Saying that, out of necessity my power cable does run alongside my signal cables for much of the distance, so the extra shielding of the mains supply might have made some improvement.

A word of warning - a lot of the IEC connectors you will find in Maplin, CPC etc will not have a long enough neck for the PHD - the Schurer IEC I originally used wasn't long enough and would never make the connection.
