And before anyone asks, yes there is more of a risk involved when it comes to having to return the TV if you end up with a fault, however it's worth the reduction if you are prepared to go through the process of arranging a return just in case.

Turns out not all TV stock is on that page there was another 55EZ952 at £999 lurking so I went for that.
Hope it is a good one.

Hi there, how did you find the ez952 Refurb? Did you keep it? Any issues? Did it come in the original box?

Thanks, ordered the 65ez952 and in two minds... should be arriving next week

came in a pani box looked like the original, still had the foils(film) on the screen, bezel, back and remote. some of the bits were still in sealed bags.
As far as I can tell the screen is uniform from the testing and any backgrounds on the various players and NowTV, still getting used to the blacks and the dynamic range.

Not found any reason to send it back
      edit to add
Took the screen foil/film off on Friday the picture hardly looks any different the reflections are much dimmer. My foil had a few bubbles and two black labels on it near the bottom, without those you could miss there is a cover on the screen.

Great post. I went from a 55 to a 50 for my recent New TV Quest. Hinsense almost got me until i saw the Panny 50' 700b for £349.

Well I was not able to have it deliverd on a sat so had to get a refund. Gutted as great deal for £349.
      Cheers

Thanks for that mate, puts me at ease somewhat - mine's arriving on Wednesday. When you say "still getting used to the blacks and the dynamic range.", I take it that's a good thing, right? :)

How are you finding the motion so far, any stutter observed as yet?

I have seen some motion/blur issues on lower quality stuff but the football and tennis on the BBC UHD streams are OK so far, as are the freeviewHD channels and my NowTV and VM feeds.

The TV is brighter than the old plasma on everything, sometimes it feels a little too bright like in the world cup studio.

on programs that have a lot of dark material like from NOWTV "The 100" and "DC's Legends of tomorrow" it feels a little compressed in the dark areas, I think I need to do some tweaks to get that a bit better and extract more detail.

So is the motion something you'll be able to live with, considering you came from a plasma?

Yeah I think a lot of that noise/compression in near black is also often due to the quality of the source i.e. low bitrate content. Or are you talking about crushed blacks?

Overall though, would you consider it as superior over your plasma?(motion aside)

benefits(bigger, brighter) access to UHD/HDR content and freeviewHD on board out way any niggles.
Not touched the controls other than choose pro1 for most sources so far.
(been busy going out a lot)

I don't think the blacks are noisy just lacking detail, any part of the scene with a tiny bit of light looks a lot better even if still relatively dark.
I think I need to plug the plasma back in and have a look at the same source side by side to see if I am missing something or the image really should be that black.

Beyond the picture the set is so much nicer looking and the smart features are making the interactive experience easier for both of us, would be nice if they got NowTV included.

If only they'd deliver to NI, that 50" EX750 would be mine.
