    Hi,

I'm looking at upgrading my tv which is a Panasonic TX-46G20B.

I popped into my local Currys a few weeks back and really like the look of the new Samsung and Panasonic smart tvs with low profile edges, especially the Panasonic ones.

I'd be using it for watching movies, the odd bit of sport and my PS4 (when it's released).

Budget is around 1k although this is not set in stone and I would like a 50-55inch

I like the look of the Panasonic TXL50E6B but I'm not sure if its better than the tv that I have now.

I plan on going to the Panasonic store in Chester at the weekend and so was hoping for opinions/suggestions of other tvs to look out for.

    Thanks in advance

Thanks Vickster. Ill go into the Panasonic store at the weekend and look at that.

Is it a similar design to the TX-L50E6B or is the edging much thicker?

It'll be chunkier being a plasma, but it'll certainly edge on picture quality for movies

Panasonic LEDs have poor blacks in comparison

Well after visiting a few stores this afternoon (richer sounds and Panasonic store) and looking at most of the Panasonic plasmas (ST, GT and VT) I've decided I don't want a plasma.......
I honestly don't like the look of the thick edging and much prefer the edging on the LCD TVs.

I know I'll probably get flamed for saying that but that's just my opinion.

Some of the TVs that I liked the look of were Samsung Ue46f8000
Panasonic TX l47wt6 and Panasonic TX l50dt65 however after looking at the reviews on here I'm left none the wiser.

The Samsung seemed to have the better of the reviews but is way out of my budget.

Is there no LCD TVs out there around a 50" that anyone is happy with because I can't seem to find any. I could probably go up to £1300 for the right one.
