    Hi
Hope someone can help a complete novice to camcorders - I have a Panasonic NV-GS11 but cannot work out how to get the recording from mni dv onto my pc to edit and then store on CD so that I can send it to family and friends. Is it possible with this camcorder? If so any guidence would be grateful.

Hi Frency and welcome to the forum :hiya:

This is a common question and I think my reply in This Thread should answer your question.

Hi, I also have this problem with my panasonic camera.

Could someone please tell me where I can get ones of these firewire ports and how easy are they to fit? Can you get one that is external and plugs into a USB socket?

Anyone got any links to shops on the web with these products (listed above) on them?

    Thanks,

    John :smashin:

    www.ebuyer.co.uk
Ebuyer PCI Firewire 1394A Card with 3 External and 1 Internal Port
    £9.99
    £11.74 inc VAT
6 pin to 4 pin cable included

This will just plug into any spare PCI slot on the motherboard of your PC.
Firewire is a conection standard that is faster than any other on a PC so need to be connected directly to the PC and can't go via USB etc.

But I bet the Studio software was not the full retail bundle, but a seriously cut down version meant to wet your appitite so you go out and buy the full package :suicide:
