Question Panasonic - new or refurbished?

Has anyone bought from the Panasonic Outlet on EBay and can report back on what they, and the product was like please?

Have the option of the 65DX750 for £1499 brand new but can get the 65DX902 for the same price refurbished from the outlet.....seriously tempted at that price but want to be sure it's a safe place to buy from.

I've not bought from there but I believe it's a factory backed outlet and everything they sell has a 12 month warranty so definitely worth a punt if funds dont stretch to a brand new model imo

@MacReady Did you go for one of these in the end? Any thoughts?

I'd be interested if you bought from Panasonic outlet on Ebay? I've bought from them before twice, most recently in Feb a 50DX750 and it looked brand new to me and came boxed with 12 months warranty. When I purchased, the tv was £800-£850 at the time everywhere else and I bought from the outlet for £599 so my experience is all good.

I did....it was a mixed experience.

The service from them was very good and it arrived and was unpackaged but I asked for it to be shown switched on whilst still in the box rather than putting on the stand...this was because I was wall mounting it.

it seemed ok but when I did wall mount it and switched it on I noticed a fault where about a quarter of the screen was darker and separated with a very distinct line. I posted it in the DX902 owners thread here.

I called the Panasonic outlet and they were very apologetic and offered a straight replacement. I said I had proof of the fault but they said it wasn't needed and would get another one out to me. It was swapped within a week and, touch wood, the new one seems to have been perfect.

I have just ordered a UB700 UHD BD player from them as well so hoping that is ok:smashin:

Thanks MacReady, that's really helpful. I'm considering doing the same but a little weary (as you were initially) about getting a refurbished set.

I always believe refurbished stuff is a great option as long as the warranty is good enough. People like Apple offer the same warranty length (1 year) but others like Richer Sounds really reduce warranty length (6 mon this for refurb vs 6 years for new) which makes a refurb too much of a risk or not really worth the discount.
