Hi guys , just heard that Panasonic is pulling out of Southern Ireland ! Is this legit !

Not heard anything here in the UK. Have you asked them?

On a British forum this isn't a big deal of course as they couldn't care a jot about that Island to the West but in my head it's freakin' massive news. Went into DID Airside (Dublin) and indeed no Panasonic TVs on display. Talked to rep and he confirmed they are gone. None in Harvey Norman either. Why leave a wealthy (if small) market? Philips pulled this trick years ago and returned.
Was thinking about upgrading my 10 year old Panny plasma to a 65" OLED, I know I could probably get a Panasonic OLED from Richer Sounds Belfast but to hell with them.
Sony or LG for me so.

I think that it’s part of Panasonic’s plans to withdraw from the a/v market. As I understand things, the company doesn’t sell much in the US nowadays. Ultimately, who can say for sure?
