Can I output directly to pc with a cable or scart connection, without having to copy everything to disc first.
    Thanks

you could do that if you have a capture card but it would be a lot slower since it would be in real time. TV cards have svhs in. If your dvd has svhs out use a svhs cable, if not a scart to svhs cable.

A two hour movie would take two hours to capture. Burn to disk and copy to pc would be a lot faster.

They only way to maintain the quality as it is on the recorder is to transfer to disc and then copy onto the PC.

I do this with DVD-RAM as you can re-use the disc lots of time.

No Panasonic DVD Recorders cannot have the hard drive upgraded the size is locked in the firmware.

To extend Hal_loe's reply. The hard disk can be replaced by another and even a bigger one but, 40GB is what will be recognised. You could put a 120GB in their but it will be shown as 40GB.
