I haven't had much time to play with it yet but first impressions put the wow factor off the scale!

It played an R1 and R2 without any trouble - I'm always forgetting which disks are RCE. ISTR that R2 Charlies Angels is, I'll try that tonight.

It came with two DVD-RAM disks. I paricularly like the fact I can put my Compact Flash card in, from my camera, and copy the images to DVD and also play a slide show of them, neat!

Charlies Angels (R2) plays fine, if that proves anything!

Didn't know you could put Compact Flash cards directly into the HS2. I also use them in a digital camera and that facility sounds very useful.
I was looking at getting an HS2 until someone pointed out the new Toshiba Recoder with HDD comeing out in May at a slightly cheaper price.
This has probably been asked already but does the HS2 accept any CD r or RW pc written disks? I have a lot filled with holiday photos and some of these Kodak ones you get done in Boots these days , might they work as well?

    Cheers

Mmmmm , i've had loads of advice from HS2 owners saying how good the machine is but obviousley as the Tosh ain't out i've no idea how good/bad it will be.
I do have a Tosh VCR which is now 6 years old and still works a dream and my brother had a Tosh 28" CRT for donkeys years which he sold second hand for a good price to get a Wide Screen and again good piece of kit.
The only way is either to wait for someone else in the forum to get the Tosh then get the advice or just jump in and get it myself and keep the fingers crossed.
By the time i make my mind up i bet there will be 6 other manufacturers out on sale and i'll be back to square one.
    Thanks for the advice though.

Yeah and don't I know it. I bought an HS2 as well as a Sony TRV60E from here a few weeks back. The HS2 didn't work as it should so I sent it back ASAP. Over 2 weeks now and I still haven't got my replacement. My original has been sent back to the manufacturers for repair and they have none left in stock. I'm giving them till next Tuesday then I'm gonna ask for my money back, they seem a bit reluctant on the phone so I just hope this doesn't turn sour!
