Panasonic G10 v X10 for SD?

going for a 50 inch panny plasma later in the year so wondered as i watch alot of old BBC sd-dvd shows but also have a growing BD collection whats the best choice from the G10 and X10 series.

Is SD DVD/FREEVIEW worse on the G10 than the HD ready X10?

I think the G10 is better with SD due to the better black levels.

Ive had the 50" G10 for three weeks now.

I cant see how the G10 could be worse than the X10 for freeview and Ive got to think that blu-rays will be better. I was dithering between the two as well if thats any help but because of my viewing range (6-7ft!) I had to go for full HD.

If you werent going to bother with blu-rays and your viewing range was more than my admittedly short viewing range Id say X10. But if youre buying more and more blu-rays and you want to see them at their 1080p best its got to be the G10.

Freeview looks better and better at my viewing range.

Blu-rays look fantastic.

Very happy!

whats 1080 upscaled DVD like?
I will be using my Oppo 980H scaling to 1080p to feed SD DVDs into either the G10 or X10.
Im assuming using this method will produce a equal quality picture on the G10 compared to the X10 anyway?
