Is there anyway of speeding this up?

I've followed the instructions in the manual for dubbing to DVD-R i.e I follow the on-screen menus and it works fine but it dubs it in REAL TIME.

In other words if I've recorded Three 30min episodes on my HD in XP mode and want to dub them to DVD-R I would use the FR mode to maximise quality. Great but it takes the full 1h 30mins to dub!!

Is there a way of dubbing recordings to DVD-R in FR mode that works a little faster?

    Yours perplexed.

Yes. Record each episode to the HDD using Flexible Record set to 1hr 30mins (the total running time of your final DVD-R if you put 3 x 30mins eps on it). Trim each episode to get rid of the extra footage. And then high speed dub to DVD-R (ensure you have set the menu option to do this).

Not only is this quicker but it will give you better picture quality as well. Have a look at this guide on using Flexible Record.
