    Hi People :hiya:

I have been looking into two Panasonic recorders. The DMR-EX85EB-S and the DMR-EX75EB-S.
The only difference that I can see between the two is that the EX85 has a 250gb hard disc and the EX75 has a 160gb. Does anyone know if this is the only difference or is there something else that I've not noticed.
Also are either of these players good at HDMI upscaling, compared to a stand alone player worth around £200???

The hard disk size is the only difference in the models.

Sorry, I cannot comment on the upscaling. It is far too subjective.

    Hi

You are already watching an upscaled picture on your flat panel TV, so don't expect anything very much different to what you are already watching. HDMI upscalers are just the emperors new clothes.

Dependent on the screen you own (and it's upscaling capabilities) you may notice a benifit with using the DVD player to upscale. The reason for this is that some TV's offer better scaling than others. The EX75 and 85 apparently have very good scalers. On my Dell LCD the DVD player clearly does a better job of upscaling. However, on my Panny PX60 things are pretty equal.
