I have backed up a number of DVDs to the Panasonic HDD, however when I play them back from the HDD, I get normal picture but the dialogue is not audible. The strange thing is that all other sound is still there just the actual conversations part of the audio is missing.

During the actual recording, if you watch what is being recorded, then all is normal, ie all sound is there, inc dialogue. Also if you play the DVD itself on the Panasonic or any other DVD player (Including PC), then again all is fine.

I have done this with about 8 different DVDs and all are the same - Picture, peripheral sound but no dialogue.

Am I missing something on the recording or playback settings? I've read the manual and played around with various settings but with no luck.

    thanks
