Panasonic embark on Smart Viera TV Campaign

Everything you love, in one place

It would be fair to say that Panasonic is having a very good year with their Viera TV Range. Not only have they provided two AVForums Reference Status Award winning TVs, in the VT65 and ZT65 Plasma's, they've also been hard at work making their Smart TV Features a serious contender to the likes of LG and Samsung.

We particularly liked the new my Home Screen interface that's the centre piece of the new Smart Viera offer, which offers a good degree of personalisation options, allowing multiple users to set up different home screens, according to wants and needs.

Panasonic has also gone down the face and voice recognition path to good effect and now has a range of apps to rival the competition. Clearly the company knows it needs to compete in the marketplace based on features and ease of use, as well as picture quality, and to that end are embarking on an advertising campaign to highlight what they have to offer.

Check out the video below for a preview of their TV advertising campaign:

The new high end Viera models offer screen mirroring from Miracast certified devices. Also the new remote app allows you to share content from your smart device including web pages.

Using the app you can 'browse and share' I.e throw a URL to the TV which it in turn loads up on the TV's.

Finally you have the media server which allows you to connect to say a NAS drive for even more content sharing.

Mark, although users can have their own home screens there doesn't seem any way to make the apps on those homescreens specific to each person e.g. Skype and Facebook, what seems to happen is it just goes into who's ever account was logged into last regardless of who's homescreen you're on which quite frankly is ridiculous. Is that behaviour correct as far as you know because it seems a huge oversight to me!
