The current issue of What Video reviews a few DVD recorders:

    Panasonic E65 - Best Buy
    Highs: Excellent connectivity; excellent performance
Lows: EP mode (8hrs per disk) recordings are poor
    Overall rating: 5/5

    JVC DRMV1 (VHS/DVDR Combo)
Highs: Dual recording; progressive scan; digibox control; multi-format support; good DVD quality
Lows: Non-cartrdige DVD-RAMs only; no SVHS recording; no HDMI; no RGB input
    Overall rating: 4/5

    Bush DVRHS01 (VHS/DVDR Combo)
    Highs: DVD recording; price
Lows: Single tuner; lacklustre VHS performance; no RGB input; no MP3/VCD playback
    Overall rating: 3/5

The issue also has a quick look at the new Sony range in the news section.

Well worth picking up the issue if you are interested/thinking of any of those models.
