Hi to all Sorry if Im asking an obvious question here, Im thinking of buying a E55 but am bothered by compatability of recordings with other dvd players. If I was to record onto DVD Ram could I then edit and transfer this to a -R disk that could be given to someone else to play ? Would I need to use a pc to do this or can it be done using the Panasonic machine ?? If not would I require a recorder with Hard drive attached to allow me to copy from the Ram disk ?? Would be very grateful for any advice or recommendations. Thanks
With any standalone DVD recorder you can either make compatible recordings OR make editted ones. If you want to do both you either have to get a HDD/DVDR combo or follow the PC Guide thread. With a Panasonic the DVD-RAMs will play in very few players (new Panasonic, JVC and some Thompson or NAD players) but offers great features such as editting. Whereas it also offers DVD-R recording which will play in everything but offers no editting.
