    My set up is

    NTL box > AV2 SCART DVDR E55 > AV1 SCART TV

I also have a DVD player and VCR to AV2 and AV3 on the TV.

I also have an aerial conection to the TV.

When I switch ON/OFF the DVDR or set it up to Timer Recording the DVDR blanks the TV for a few seconds.

If the TV is set to aerial input rather than AV1 when the timer finishes the TV switches back to AV1 and agains shows a blank screen for a few seconds.

How can I configure the DVDR to stop it from blanking the screen. It is really annoying if trying to watch another programme.

You can't, this is by design.
My Pan E100 does exactly the same thing.

Maybe you could cut pin 8 on the scart to stop it switching, but try it on a old cheapo lead first.
