    Hi

Reading the other messages about the E30 and the new E50 I'm starting to get somewhat
    paraniod about the E30's availability.

Are people still able to get them - has anyone had to hunt from one shop to the next for one?

Still waiting on damned expenses money so can't get it (xmas gift to myself) untill it arrives.

Also it worth paying by credit card for any extra insurance the card offers?

Whats the best price anyones been able to get? There was a post about £339..... but no detials - but having done the math it looks like the price without VAT.

    Mark

It would seem the E30 is being replaced by the E50 which is cheaper to produce (allegedly). Because of this you need to move fast to get an E30, depending on if you want a multi or a standard is where you get it from. For R2 only I'd personally use Comet which offer them at £399, as I don't need the multi version I can't really tell you who does them, sorry.

All the 'Big' Stores (Dixons etc.) are selling them for £400 online. I've not been able to find them much cheaper than that.

As a matter of interest, does anyone know what the difference between the E30 and E50 will be? Reading the very brief details I could find regarding the E50 I couldn't see anything different.

I believe the new Panasonic DVD players / recorders will be Made In China rather than Japan.
Allegedly the main reason to swap is Philips pricing, if Panasonic match price points whilst sourcing from Japan their margin is thin, naturally expect a quality drop.
Any differences ? Other than HS2 replacement having 80gb drive, I can't say.
