Panasonic E30 & 4 speed discs?

Just bought one of these over on the classifieds.

Can anyone confirm or deny that the E30 will record onto x4 discs without problem please?

Also, am I correct in believing that there is no firmware upgrade for the E30?

Some months ago I had confirmation from Panny themselves (At my request as I had the same worry) that 4X discs are safe and fine to use on the E30.

I have used many and are still doing. No worries......

Never the less you can still get bad 4X discss that go wrong but it won't be because they are used in the E30.
