For those interested, I understand a DVI-HDMI conversion cable (i.e. not an adapter) is now available. I plan on ordering one today to go from the DVI board of my Panasonic 6 to a Pioneer 868 (when it arrives!). Relevant text from AVS Forum as follows:

"You are correct!! Found and copied the post which was made today. Does not indicate length or other compatibility so if needed I would sure investigate further.

Panasonic sells DVI-HDMI Conversion Cable .
    Model number is TY-SCH03DH ($39.95)

    Go to http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/epartr/
    Then type the model number.

Or Call Panasonic National Parts Center at 800-833-9626
between the hours of 9am and 7:30pm EST Monday through Friday."

Would this cable work with a Pioneer PDP-433MXE and a Pioneer DV-868avi?

I believe the 5002 board is not HDCP compliant (Aurora/Key Digital ones are I think) and the 868 (on theory) only outputs an HDCP signal via HDMI - so you may have a problem. Having said that the Samsung 935 is also supposed to output HDCP only and I know at least one of the DVI ouput settings wosks fine with non-HDCP screens/projectors!

Any news on a (much cheaper I hope) HDMI to DVI adapter that will connect to a DVI cable ?
