if it is one of the RV range, I think it needs to be chipped. I had a Yamaha player which was based on an RV60 I think it was and it was chipped to multiregion with a Paragon chip. Although I bought it new, it was already modified so I don't know who did it, although I presumed it was the shop where I bought it from who were a Yamaha dealer.

I'm sure you'd find a dealer who'd chip it for you, but I don't think it would be cost effective, given the low prices of some players now and that most are software hackable (or are already multiregion). It wouldn't suprise me if the mod was £50 plus.
