Unfortunately I dont think so. The only other device I have with IR on it is my (don't laugh) mobile - Nokia 6310i
It turns out, there is an alternative to firmwareinfo.com: TPS ON-LINE. They answered my email in a helpful, prompt and friendly manner. Just email them, stating your precise device name (i.e. what you would put in the application for firmwareinfo) and ask if they would sell you just the modified firmware enabling multi-region blu-ray.
Lets stop throwing money at firmwareinfo.com with their ridiculous business practice and buy from somebody with proper business etiquette.

Has anyone had any success making a BD79 region free for either blu-ray or DVD? Apparently the firmware method doesn't work?
I seem to remember reading about old windows based PDAs being able to transmit the codes. Is this still possible? Can't find any mention of it now.
