Panasonic DMREX75: Timeslip upscaling

Hi all,

I'm considering the purchase of the Panasonic DMREX75 HDD DVD Recorder, but before I do I would like to know (as daft as it may sound) if it is possible to watch an entire days broadcasting through a 1 minute timeslip, and reap the benefits of upscaled output?

You'll get a better response in the DVD Recorders forum. However, although I don't have experience with the precise model you are talking about, Panasonic DVD recorders only record in one solid block for 8 hours (whatever recording mode you use). Ergo if you wanted to record 24hrs worth of TV in one go then it wouldn't work.

However you can set multiple timer entries seperated only by 1 minute so, provide that is OK, then you can certainly record 24hrs worth of TV. And you will reap the benefit of upscaled TV - although note it won't be anywhere near the quality achievable via a dedicated scaler.

Any ideas on this one people?

Surely those of you with the kit will have tried it.

Yes. Rasczak did.

Pehaps it would be a courtesy to acknowledge the effort and suggestions he made on your behalf.

Yep, you're quite right Gavtech:oops:

Thanks for the input Rasczak...I just get so carried away reading the forums, and planning my setup, that I forget anyone else exists:rolleyes:
