    could anyone tell me can you record digital channels with the built in freeview tuner and also watch digital channels using my old freeview box[iplayer] at the same time?.

    Yes there should be no problem in doing this although if you are using the same aerial to receive the Freeview the signal quality may be reduced when using two tuners attached.
