I am thinking of getting one of these and was just wondering is it possible to install larger HDDs into them. I was thinking at most there is software on them so copy it to pc, then copy that to new hdd and put the new one in? Thanx

There is often firmware in the recorder to stop larger disks being put in. A straight replacement is usually OK e.g. in case of problems.
The larger disk idea keeps coming up, but I've never seen an example of it being done except with oldish Pace HDD boxes.
