Panasonic DMREH60D and Hi-Def question

Hello, ima go buy myself a Panasonic DMREH60D this weekend, and wanted to ask about Hi-Def. Sky said thier gona start HD in 2006, now if a programme is being broadcast in HD, will it make any difference in recording to the DMREH60D?

Precise details of the Sky+ HD unit are still to be confirmed but what is known is that no current DVD recorder will allow you to record a high definition output from the new machine (as this requires HDMI and/or Component input). What you will be able to do is record via the normal Scart outputs (in standard definition) just like on any other Sky unit. Sky may copy protection scaled down high def channels (like they do on Box Office) but there are easy ways around that.
