    Hi,

I was thinking of buying the excellent Panasonic DMRE85 dvdr/hdd player, but I'm confused. Some retailers claim it is multiregion, some do not. For the ones claiming it is multiregion, does anyone know how this has been achieved? Can it be done thr the remote, or has it been chipped?

If it has been chipped, I'll have to be careful, since some people chip better than others.

    Thanks

Its a firmware chip on pannys, basically the retailer haas downloaded unofficial firmware on to the machine so if it goes wrong you will have to take it back to them, Panasonic wont touch it!

Thanks for the info, it is as I expected...

Its mainly for recording TV, I have another DVD player / home cinema kit for watching films on anyway, so I think I'll stick to a standard UK unchipped model, safer that way!

    Cheers
