Connect everything via good quality Scart leads as follows:

    Sky TV Out > Panasonic E55 AV2 and then AV1 > TV EXT1
    Sky VCR > VCR Input
    VCR Output > TV EXT2

    Notes
Ensure Sky is set to RGB output (Services/Setup/Picture Settings) and never use the 'TV' button (which resets it to composite). And on the E55 goto Functions/Setup/Connection and set AV1 and AV2 to 'RGB' and 'Normal'.

Rasczak, I also have the e55, vcr and humax freeview pvr - I also have a Sony 32" with 3 scart connections at the back - what is the best set up and will I still be able to record on the vcr?

    Thanks ;)

I don't know the Humax that well but it is probably exactly the same (assuming the Humax has 2 Scart outputs: use the TV Out to the E55 as that will be RGB enabled). You will still be able to record onto VHS.

If you apply the above setup and you want to copy VHS to DVD then you'll need to rewire your VCR output to AV2 on the E55 on an ad hoc basis. Accordingly I suggest doing any such copying in batches.

Rasczak, thanks for that - i think that is the set up I currently have - just that it is a pain to have to rewire the scarts to archive off my vhs.
