hi, ive just ordered a px70 with this recorder thrown in from john lewis.

my question is does this play divx?

ive found a few reviews but they are american, and they state that it does.

But according to panasonic site , the specs say no?????

why would they remove divx compatibility from uk models ?

Its definitely the same model number. just wondered if anyone has this model and has tried it.

just read about panasonics and divx in uk.......
might just flea bay it .

Uniquely, Divx support is absent on UK models... . I heard several years ago that it was reputedly for licensing reasons, but I have never been able to verify this.

Strange that all other countries get it, if it was for licensing laws you would think it would be all european models, not just UK.

Also, why can they sell a player in the UK with DivX playback but not a recorder, if it was just a licensing issue

as the other's has said the uk model's wont play divx but the rest of the world's do but i dont use/need divx playback
