    Hi All

Can some one please advise me ?.
I just got a Panasonic DMR-EZ25 DVD Recorder. I'm very happy with it so far but there is one thing thats bugging me a bit. There seems to be a line of white dashes of varying sizes just above the viewing area sort of looks like a bunch of dashes -------- just to the left. Its only visible when playing back DVDs . Tried capturing it on Snagit via the PC so you could see but I don't know how to work it out and end up only getting a black screen on the PNGs that I save.
Any advice will be much appreciated
    Steve

I have the same on mine. My novice thoughts are this:

Have you got a freeview box wired into your setup? Before i got my Panny, my Thomson freeview box gave me a similar scenario but more visible. After buying my Panny and keeping my Thomson in the loop, the lines showing on my TV are still there but not as visible.

Not much help I know but thought I would share it!!

    Hi cronny
Yes I do have a set top box in the loop. I have an Alba its second in the loop right now ( antenna into recorder first). We are not in a very strong signal area and I get break up on tthe picture with anything that is second in the loop so. With that the recorder is first so at least anything I record has a good picture.
Do you think this "dash" problem is just with certain set top boxes?

If you see these at the top of the screen this could also indicate the height on your TV requires slightly stretching.

    Hi JayCee

The white dashes are just above the picture area ...about 1/4" or so.

No its about 1/4 to 1/2 inch (varies) above the picture area. Just to the left.
