This is a question I have not seen answered - anyone got any solution?

My Panasonic DMR-EX95V is still going strong (fingers crossed), DVD & VHS not much used but working fine... and the HDD used often but not backed up. I have about 30% of the drive left. But I'm conscious it's getting on and if it packs up, like deepblue, I would be sorry to lose the content.

There must be some way of preserving the data on an external drive. I'd gladly buy one to save the progs and edited highlights of progs which I have on there. (I don't really want to save to loads of DVDs, given the amount of material)

Please, someone: do you know how?

:) Happy New Year to all.

Using DVD's is really the only way to preserve material...other than playing the material off to record on another machine... which is probably more tedious and inefficient.

No-one has cracked a realistic way of getting data off a Panasonic DVDR hard drive.
