Panasonic DMR-EX88 - Resume play problems

Hi, I've only had this recorder for a few weeks so i might be missing something in the instructions. Is there any way i can resume play if i've stopped watching 1 HDD recording to watch another and then return to the orginal recording? It goes right back to the begining which is very annoying. It says in the instructions that if you press 'stop' once it will resume play, but it does this only if you stay on the same recording so you might as well press pause. Hope someone can help me as fast forwarding through nearly a whole film to get to where you left off is seriously mad!:lease:

If there is a point in a recording that you want the machine to remember, just press the 'Create Chapter' button on the remote. When you play back the recording you can then press the skip buttons to jump straight back to that point.
