Panasonic Dmr-ex75-ebs

I'm looking for a decent DVD recorder with HDD and freeview.Looked at the Panasonic dmr-ex75-ebs very impressed, but have been told when recording
one tv channel cannot view another channel!!!
Years ago, the most primitive vcr would let you record one and watch another
channel, so have I been told a porky?
I have e.mailed Panasonic as yet no reply.

Hello Pippus - Welcome to the forum.

You are perhaps talking about two different things.

You can do as you did with a VCR - ie. watch another channel using the TV's tuner... That is no problem.

But what you cannot do with the EX75 [ or any other DVDR ] is watch one Freeview channel whilst recording another freeview channel.
That requires two digital tuners and no DVDR are currently so equipped.
