    Hi All,

Anyone hear any news about the new Pani recorders?

AVland have a 'pre-release' page about them, but no dates.

    DMR ES10

I should imagine that, as with the E50 and E55, it will be released in March but will be in short supply (and thus not cheap) until April.

Hi everyone, new member here, who has been reading all your helpful post on here..

I am in the market for a new 32" CRT and a HDD DVD Recorder..

I was looking at the Sony HX900, Pioneer and the Panny E-85..
I went in for a demo of the E-85 and was very impressed (guy in the Panasonic shop was very helpful also). The only thing that put me off with the Panny was the no -/+ RW
I work abroad alot in various places in the world, for a month at a time and was hoping to take a load of disc's with me with various recordings on, and then the next time I came home to replace them with new stuff. This would save me always wasting just -R discs, so thats why I thought RW would be better. The compatibility of RAM put me off slightly, although the E-85 was a lovely machine.

The guy in the Panny shop quietly told me to hang off, as there was a new range coming out. He reckoned that some models would have built in freeview and the possibility of RW.

I have done some searches on the www and found this site :
    http://www.cinenow.com/us/reportage.php/sid,1285/

There is a photo of the EH50S which if you look closely in the photo, it looks like it has a 100 GB HDD and it will feature recording on RW :smashin:

Anyone know any different or have any other info about it ?/

Was also looking at the Panasonic 32PD50 TV and the Philips 32PW9509.
I have read alot of comments in the forum on both sets (good and bad) and am completely stuck on what too go for now.. The Panny is £1200 in most high street stores, if I plan to spend this kind of money, would a LCD be a better option ??

I am driving my girlfriend up the wall talking about all this, and all the time spent on going to shops for demo's etc....
I have never been very good at decisions...
Any help would be gratefully accepted.

The EH50 is the E85 replacement - due in March/April. UK details have yet to be announced but I would expect it to have a similar spec to that announced at CES, i.e. 100GB HDD, DVD-RAM/-RW/-R/+R recording and instant startup. I doubt we'll get the EPG - but we'll have to see.

The EH50 has been announced on the website of Panasonic Germany, oddly it seems that the European reference will be DMR-EH52EG

For the features list check here

Here in Europe we lose 20GB compared to the US  : the EH52 will only have a 80GB HDD...

And why Panasonic prefers to include a stupid SD slot instead of a DV-input beats me completely as well  (to bad for Panasonic, but I'll go for one of the new Pioneers)

Apparently we will have a choice between silver and black.

Oh, and from the feature list in the second url, it seems that XP recording wouldn't be possible anymore on the HDD , although it remains to be seen if this part of information is correct because it doesn't make sense to me at all.

I sent an email enquiry to Panasonic UK requesting when the UK release of this product would be.

Below is their response, scraped from the reply they sent me.

Thank you for your email enquiry.
In response, we have no plans to release this product in the UK at present.
Although we would like to be of assistance, our organisation has
information and software that is limited to products sold in the UK.

I am sorry that we could not be of further assistance to you on this
occasion. However, of course, if you should have any further queries,
please do not hesitate to contact us on 08705 357357 or
customer.care@panasonic.co.uk and we will endeavour to assist.

    What is going on?????????

AVLand are taking pre-orders for a product that Panasonic do not intend to reslease????

    Any ideas???

I wouldn't worry about it - Panasonic UK are usually one of the last organisations to know about Panasonic products :)

You're spot on. Last year I enquired about the E55 & I got a similar reply from Panasonic UK. As stated on Panny's German Website, the ES10 should be released Europewide (including UK) about the middle of March to coincide with the Hanover Audio Visual exhibition.
The ES10, ES30V & EH50 WILL BE euro PRICED at €299, €499 and €549 respectively. Equivalent UK prices should be £199, £349 and £399 respectively. I've got the E50 & E55. I will be getting the DMR-ES10 when it's released in UK. The improved picture quality in LP mode as well as the 1 second quick start as well as the ability to playback all DVD formats as well as record in all except +RW & +R dual layer is good enough for me. :smashin:

Noticed that the specs says not that the video D/A is 10 bit (54 Mhz) and not 12 bit as stated earlier, or fas the fud?

I noticed this as well but if you look at the press conference report as well as the technology section (superdrive system) on panasonic.de website, it says it's 12 bit. I suppose they've just mistakenly copied some specs from the E55.

Well, has anyone manage to verify what is with the D/A - since I've so far only found 54MHz/10-bit mentioned every where.... well, except at Panasonic pages or at least the Swedish site does not inlude any data about this... anyone have any more images of it?

I have read this with interest; will the improved D/A make a noticeable improvement on the picture, when compared side by side with an E55?
    Lets keep it real!

Panasonic will not offer EPG with the DMR-EH50 in UK. Both the ES10 & EH50 will be available in the shops by the end of March.

Two freeview models will be released later:

    DMR-ES20D ............................ July
    DMR-EH60D (160GB hard drive)....September

The freeview models are listed here:
