    Hi Guys

Have Panasonic stopped making the DMR EH60?

I can't seem to find one anywhere (in stock), and a couple of websites have stated that they have been discontinued????????

Which sounds strange, as I thought they had only just come out.

    Cheers

    Phil

Yes - we are now waiting for the new models.
it appears they only scheduled a limited run due to the limited UK market for a DVD recorder with built in digibox

If that were true, they wouldn't be putting Freeview tuners in 5 of their 6 new models.

I suspect the ES20D and EH60D were a sort of large scale trial run. Panasonic were dipping their toes in the water, and they probably assumed they wouldn't get the DVB-T integration completely right first time.

With the analogue switch-off looming, the other manufacturers will have to grasp this particular nettle soon.

Thats cool. So does anyone know when the new models are coming out?

I don't understant why they would think that the UK would have limited demand for a DVDR with a digital tuner?

Although saying that, I looked arround on the net last night, and it appears as though we in the meridian area are not going to get digital terrestrial until 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are a couple of threads about the new models here and here.

Slip of the tongue (or keyboard) I'm sure, but the Meridian area has got DTT already. It's on low power, as in all regions, to avoid interfering with the analogue signals.

Meridian will be one of the last to switch. Switchover starts rolling in the second half of 2008, assuming it remains on schedule. TVs and recorders bought now in the Border area will only be about two and a half years old when the analogue signals are switched off. New model ranges released this spring/summer could presumably still be on sale next summer, which is not much more than a year before the analogue signals start disappearing.

This comparison of the new UK models shows which ones have DVB-T tuners.
