Seems to have pretty much everything else, but can anyone confirm if the DMR-EH50 has dv-in and if it has the facility to control a (NTL) cable set top box for timer recordings? If so then this could be the machine to go for, despite the comparitively small 80Gb HD.

    Thanks

The machine has no DV in and IMO the HD would be a bit small for HD work and an average amount of TV recording, hence it's omission. If you can wait Panasonic have a 160gb DV in version out in Sept.

I'm not sure if the qlink will work with the NTL boxes but there's no reason on the Pansonic side why it should not. If you look at the NTL manual then it should tell you if the scart outputs a timer signal and whether this scart will also give you RGB.

Thanks for the reply. I thought as much. Looks like a wait until September, then...

Or you could look now at the Pioneer 720 (160gb), Toshiba XS34(160gb), or Panasonics own E95(160gb though no DVD-RW) which are all superb machines with DV in and will lose little or nothing to the September Panasonic.
