Hello,

I am in the process of choosing between the among two models.

I have Sky (Italy) and mainly interested in the following characteristics:

1) possibility to look at a program that i am still finish to record
2) possibility to see the DivX file
3) possibly to compress the file to get on a DVD at least 4-8 hrs of transmission
4) possibility to record and play 16:9 video

most DVRs will do these, but not Divx - there are separate players available..

the new pioneers are very good, specially those with Hard Drives...

- if you are still thinking about Divx, remember this is a very compressed format - dark scenes are pretty hopeless, the screen noise can also be bad at times, going into 'blocks' during fast motion.....
