Yes - if you choose a program on your Digibox for autoview and switch of the Digibox, it will "wake up" the dmr 85 on the start of the program. IF you put the dmr 85 to EXT Link before of course.

I found out however, that autoview does not allow the Digibox to give out RGB. So make sure you put your DMR 85 AV2 input (where your Digibox signals hopefully come in) to "Video" instead of "RGB". Otherwise you might just record the sound without the picture.
I had this problem.

Also, my DMR 85 needs to be set on EXT Link 2 (check functions, setup, connections - mine is german so it might call itself slightliy different on yours). In the manual it says, that EXT 1 should be used, if the digibox can give out an impulse via scart, to start the dmr 85. My digibox actually has this function, but it doesn't work, when I put it on ext link1.
So ext link 2 is safer.

Good luck ...

1. Did you switch your digibox off, after selecting autoview within personal planer? My box is a panasonic - maybe it's different with yours.

2. Did you press the EXT Link Button on your dmr 85 remote? It should go to stand-by then.

When the digibox comes back on, the dmr 85 should start with self-check etc. and record, putting up an alert "Recording started Yes/abort"

Ext link only works via scart AV2 Connection.

Make sure, that you FIRST finished all the work on your Digibox and switched it off BEFORE pressing ext link on your dmr 85 Remote.
Because after your pressed EXT LINK every electric signal on your scart will make your dmr start recording - stop recording - start recording etc ...
-which is okay, when it's just the two signals from the Digibox - when it switches off and then switches off in the end.

Last sentence was meant to be - when the digibox switches ON and then switches OFF in the end.
